We are interviewing Nic Hays owner of Steel Plate Crossfit

Nic Hays is the Founder and CEO at STEEL PLATE CrossFit. He is the Head Coach in charge of programming, sales, advertising, marketing and management. He has helped High School athletes achieve collegiate scholarships along with helping others achieve fitness goals such as losing weight, lowering body fat percentage, running the Boston Marathon, competing in CrossFit competitions, decreasing medications and overall health.

Nic has been in the Fitness industry for 13 years. Finding his passion for helping others achieve their goals has been such a motivating step in his life. He wakes up every morning at 4am to motivate others to push themselves to become stronger, healthier and an overall more positive individual. He runs along the line of “be kind and make someone smile.”

He stands behind his core values of Faith, Family, Integrity, Leadership, Fun and Health.

He has elevated the customer service in the Fitness industry to show each individual that their safety and success is the most important aspect to their journey. He believes in making fitness fun, challenging and achievable for everyone.

He lives to watch his daughter play volleyball, softball and growing up into a kind loving woman. He loves playing sand volleyball and challenging himself in anyway possible besides running because that is hard. He enjoys live music, game nights with family and friends, traveling to warm places with amazing beaches. He loves creating and dreaming outside the box. He his currently working on inventing a piece of fitness equipment to help in Physical Therapy along with Personal Fitness.

When he was 13 he had a goal to dunk a basketball and also win the state high jump track and field meet. He had been training but needed one more thing. “Strength shoes” these shoes are designed to keep you on your toes and balls of your feet to strengthen your legs and increase your vertical jump & agility. These shoes cost $120 & his parents couldn’t afford to buy them so he cut the back sole of a pair of shoes that he had and super glued along with duct tape it to the front of the shoe. He trained in these shoes after practice, on the weekends whenever he could. He won the state high jump and at 5’10” was getting his elbow past the rim and dunking. This is the creativity that makes his career exciting and fun.
