Naaman was a general and commander of the Syrian army. He was a Gentile and a self-made man. He was an accomplished, decorated, valiant soldier. But 2 Kings 5:1 said "but he had leprosy." Leprosy would be the thing that God used to humble Naaman and bring him to a place of surrender. And in the process God would heal him of his leprosy too. Naaman is a picture of all of us--living life without God or seeing our need for God until our "leprosy" happens. This story is a lesson about God's love and mercy and healing grace for all of us.
