With so many stocks reporting earnings in the next few weeks, we turn our attention to one of our less popular strategies that is well suited for [low IVR](https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/shows/from-theory-to-practice/episodes/persistence-of-low-iv-01-17-2017 ) stocks, the [Poor Man’s Covered Call.](https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/shows/from-theory-to-practice/episodes/strategy-session-poor-mans-covered-call-06-14-2016 ) Specifically, we look at PEP as a possible candidate for this strategy. What we find is a reasonably good setup for a Long Call in January and a Short Call in November.
