"Ain't there somebody who can stop this fighting machine?" After the Street Fighter II series finally came to its end but before The New Generation's 1997 Street Fighter III debut, Capcom brought us... a whole ton of SF-related stuff: The 'Versus' series, a puzzle game, a kawaii spin-off, some chunky EX polygons, lots of Marvel antics and the fun horror of the Vampire/Darkstalkers titles. But running throughout and ultimately overlapping this period came a prequel trilogy (plus multiple variants of course) of fondly-remembered, anime-infused one-on-one fighting games, the Street Fighter Zero (aka Street Fighter Alpha) series. Leon and James are joined by Andi Hamilton of Midnight Resistance and Dan Bendon of Ready Up to reminisce about the joys of air-blocking, Alpha Counters and Isms. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/podcast/cane_and_rinse_issue_207.mp3 Music used in this issue: 1: Street Fighter Alpha 2 intro (arrange version) by Tatsuro Suzuki/Syun Nishigaki 2: Simple Rating (Theme of Karin) by Hideki Okugawa Cane and Rinse 207 was edited by Ryan Hamann Do you have an opinion about this particular game or maybe about our podcast in general?
