“In here, I can be happy, forever. I will be happy.” Stanley popped his headphones on and started listening to his favourite podcast, Cane and Rinse. Disappointingly, this issue was hosted by "Diet Leon Cox" Joshua Garrity and a panel that included some Computer Game Show cast off called Sean Bell... oh, and James Carter was present I guess. But then something surreal started to happen. At first Stanley dismissed it as a hilarious coincidence that this game character they were discussing, shared his name. But as the conversation continued, Stanley could no longer dismiss the truth of what was accruing. "They're talking about me!" Stanley thought. "Not just me, but every choice I've ever made! Every choice I ever even pondered!" This was deeply troubling to Stanley. After a quick google search, Stanley's fears were confirmed. In 2013, a man by the name of Davey Wreden had taken his life story and passed it off as some subversive, choice driven game called "The Stanley Parable". Though the violation Stanley felt, soon turned to fascination. What would the panel feel about Stanley's choices? What do these choices say about the nature of choices? Also, did James really play that mini-game for four hours? Only one way to find out... http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/podcast/cane_and_rinse_issue_318.mp3 Music used in this issue: 1. Introducing Stanley by Blake Robinson 2.
