Four days later, the physician who had been managing her pain with fentanyl and Percocet for almost a decade discharged her without notice. The resulting trial into opioid withdrawals changed her life. Once she found a treatment for her intractable pain Maggie still felt a spiritual emptiness. On March 6, 2013, she hit her knees in prayer and asked Heavenly Father how to come closer to Christ. The resulting personal revelation led her to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maggie has been researching and writing about cannabis for several years. She is currently working on a project designed to provide an overall cannabis primer for faithful Latter-day Saints, called A Good Herb in its Time. Nathan Frodsham is a marketing and analytics professional, currently leading efforts in both those areas at Evolve Medical, a high-tech medical practice specializing in advanced medical procedures and services. He is an active Latter-day Saint, who has worked closely with the Church as a volunteer medical cannabis consultant. He currently runs a medical cannabis information and support group for Latter-day Saints as well as a non-denominational group, both focused on supporting new medical cannabis patients through education and community support. Nathan became a legal medical cannabis patient in 2014 when living in Seattle, Washington, where he was working. During that time, he experienced significant and remarkable relief from a painful health condition through prescribed use of medical cannabis. Following a career move to Utah, he began advocating for a local legal medical program, working closely with advocacy groups and community leaders to help develop a medical cannabis program. He graduated Brigham Young University, and is married with 3 children, all who have supported and played a valuable role in helping advocacy efforts. He currently the teaches gospel doctrine class in his local ward in Utah.
