She has a passion for solving problems, particularly those faced by women. This has led to her involvement in and support of several nonprofit organizations, including Fight the New Drug, Days for Girls, Better Days 2020, and the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, where she currently chairs the board. She hopes to continue graduate work in the intersection of theology and women’s studies in the years ahead. She and her husband, Doug, have four children and have recently entered the absolutely delightful world of grandparenthood. Their nest is almost empty so they spend lots of time biking in Provo Canyon, playing games, and singing Beatles songs with Doug on guitar.
