AGS Laboratories, the world’s preeminent authority on diamond grading, tackles “The Real Ideal” in the latest podcast from the diamond grading laboratory. Based on the notion that the word “Ideal,” as it pertains to diamonds and more specifically diamond grading and grading reports, has become generic, the podcast offers a detailed definition of the term and provides simple, actionable tips for identifying a Real Ideal cut diamond. The Real Ideal Cut diamond can only be supported by a grading report from the American Gem Society Laboratories. The AGS Laboratories introduced the Ideal Cut Diamond in the 1990s and is the only diamond-grading laboratory with an objective and scientifically vetted method of evaluating a diamond’s cut.
