I don't think the history of Thanksgiving is taught the story of Thanksgiving. This is a federal holiday started by the Pilgrims as a harvest dinner, giving thanks for the bounty of the harvest. George Washing, by a request of Congress, was started as a proclamation. It wasn't until Abraham Lincoln that made it an official holiday for the United States. It is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of every November. Now, we as Americans, celebrate the holiday, with family and friends getting together to be thankful and be with people we love. It is also all about food, and that is an experience that Americans love. Tell me what you are thankful for, send me a text to 818.252.5682 www.lodge-co.com
