He graduated with a degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Penn State University in 1981 and immediately joined Getty Oil Company in Santa Maria California. He worked in California, Trinidad, and Tobago, Louisiana, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. In 2006 he became the Vice President of Drilling and Completions for Chevron. His career has transitioned from a focus on technical issues to people and leadership development. He is interviewed by Laura Senior Garcia, Chief Operating Officer with Equilibria.
