Severe Thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic; Dangerous Heat Returning to the West - Scattered severe thunderstorms appear likely across parts of the Mid-Atlantic Thursday. Damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes should be the main threats, although isolated large hail may also occur. Dangerous heat is forecast to return to the Desert Southwest and California from Friday into early next week. Excessive Heat Watches and Warnings have been issued.
