Widespread weather impacts expected across the Western to Central U.S. over the next two days. - An upper-level low will move slowly across the Four Corners region today as south-southwesterly mid-level flow remains over the southern Plains. At the surface, a cold front will advance southeastward across the western Texas Hill Country, north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Thunderstorm development will be likely along parts of the front by afternoon. Although moderate instability may develop in parts of central and north Texas this afternoon, deep-layer shear will be relatively weak. This is expected to keep any storms that develop sub-severe late this afternoon and early evening. Elsewhere across the United States, severe storms are not expected today into tonight.
