Very Warm & Dry Across the West; Turning Quite Cool Over Much of the Eastern U.S. - Unusually warm temperatures and continued dry conditions will again result in critical fire weather conditions over portions of California and the Plains. Over the eastern states, much cooler air will return in the wake of a strong cold front. Meanwhile, areas of heavy rainfall are expected to persist over South Florida through at least Saturday.
