Hurricane Delta Headed Towards the Gulf of Mexico; Critical Fire Weather Conditions in the Rockies and Plains - Hurricane Delta is forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico by late Wednesday and may bring significant hazards from Louisiana to the Florida panhandle beginning Thursday night or Friday. Meanwhile, dry and gusty conditions will result in critical fire weather conditions from the northern and central Rockies into the Plains. Mainly tranquil weather is expected elsewhere.
