George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984 is one of Missing Frames host Shawn Eastridge’s all-time favorites. And though Michael Radford’s film adaptation (released in 1984) has a decent reputation thanks to Roger Deakins’ stunning cinematography and John Hurt’s esteemed lead performance, Shawn has avoided it out of fear that it wouldn’t live up to his expectations.

But no more.

Join Shawn and co-hosts Brandon and Lindsey Kendrick as they discuss 1984 and the risks that come with adapting a beloved novel to the big screen.

And remember…Big Brother is watching you…

NOTE: As if 1984 wasn't depressing enough, we got the news that John Hurt had passed away while we were recording this episode. We want to extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family. He was one of the all-time greats and we're glad we could honor his memory with a viewing of one of his finest performances.
