However, after a period of diligent work, the league abruptly closes its doors, leaving Wilson puzzled.Holmes investigates and finds that the league was set up by a cunning man, John Clay, to occupy Wilson for a few hours each day, allowing Clay to execute a bank robbery plan through a cellar connected to the establishment where Wilson worked. With Holmes' intervention, the police manage to apprehend Clay as he attempts the robbery. Ultimately, Wilson is compensated for his work, and the criminals are apprehended.
