Konstantinos E. Farsalinos, M.D., is a senior researcher at the Department of Pharmacy-University of Patras and the school of Public Health-University of West Attica. He is also an adjunct professor at King AbdulAziz University in Jeddah. He has been conducting laboratory and clinical research on e-cigarettes as a principal investigator since 2011. Examples of his work include the first study on the cytotoxic effects of e-cigarette vapor on cultured cells and the immediate effects of e-cigarette use on cardiac function and coronary circulation. As of late 2019, he has published more than 80 studies and articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals about tobacco harm reduction. He has been recognized as one of the world's most influential researchers of the past decade by Web of Science, receiving the Highly Cited Researcher 2019 recognition.
