This is Route C This third collecion takes us East on St Catherine, right to the Jadins Gamelin next to Berri Uquam. Altogether, it lasts about 22 minutes. We start we a brief chat with some friendly bikers hanging out opposite the Metrpolis (now the MTelus music venue), before speaking with the doorman Nick , and gig goer Guinevere. Further along St Catherine we have a long discussion with Adrien, a project manager at street art gallery Fresh Paint, about the shifting value and role of graffiti artists, and about their work with the community. Next we meet Rene, a homeless man from toronto who talks about how different people perceive him and his relationship with cops. Then we speak with an actual policeman, who preferred to remain anonymous, about how they perceive the city, as well as their own desire to protest. Finally, we listen to Maxim of Pepinere studio, talk about how they redesigned Jardis Gamelin, and their approach to working with existing communities such as the homeless. Part of 'Crossed Lines' a project by Sam Meech and Marilene Gaudet A series of short audio interviews with people living, working and passing through Montreal's downtown district.
