Mira Rai is a Nepalese trail runner who didn't quite know how good she was until she entered her first 50k. At that race, she was completely unprepared in terms of food, clothing and water, yet managed to win - impressing the ultra community around her. Now, as a Salomon sponsored athlete Mira is pioneering trail running in a society that is patriarchal in nature. She travels the world participating in overseas trails and ultras and offers an inspirational vision for women and Nepalese runners in general. In this episode, David talks to Mira about her journey into running, the impact it has on her family and her village and what she hopes to achieve in the future. Enjoy!
