This episode features Sheldon Souray. Sheldon is a former NHL defenseman who played 13 seasons in the league for the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, and Anaheim Ducks. He was named to the NHL All-Star team three times and is perhaps best known for his heavy slap shot, once setting the record for a hardest recorded shot at an Oilers Skills Competition. He also has an NHL record for most single-season power-play goals by a defenseman. Sheldon dealt with a number of difficult injuries throughout his career one of which finally resulted in his retirement in 2015. He resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was recently engaged to his fiancée Tess Annique and most importantly, he is the father of two amazing daughters, Valentina and Scarlett. We worked together from 2001 until 2007 while Sheldon was with the Montreal Canadiens and I spent a lot of time with this man reconditioning many of those injuries, I look back with fond memories on much of what I learned about the game from Sheldon. I hope you enjoy this chat!
