A decision in parliament by Premier David Crisafulli has prevented any changes to the state's abortion laws.
The decision also ensures any discussion on the topic will occur throughout the four-year term.
Katter Australia Party member Robbie Katter told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "I don't know if I've ever been that shocked in state parliament."
"That's the whole point of having a parliament, the contest of ideas, not to shut it down because it's uncomfortable for people," Mr Katter continued.
