Col M. Maier (USA Ret) Bio:
Col M. Maier initially pursued a career in teaching. After earning her degree, she decided to join the military due to a lack of available teaching jobs. She was the first female to command the 16th Military Police Brigade and is the only officer to have commanded this unit twice. Col Maier commanded the 16th MP Brigade from June 1995 to July 1997, and was called from retirement in August 2009 to command the same unit again in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Now retired and residing in Hawaii, she enjoys the freedom to "do what I want when I want."
