We welcome another esteemed debutant to today's episode of On The Continent, as Luke Moore and Andy Brassell are joined by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney!

In light of Miguel’s recent piece, ‘How football became broken beyond repair’, we discuss the current imbalances within European football. As the top clubs earn huge swathes of money from Champions League performances and their international reach, competitiveness is being eroded across the vast majority of Europe’s leagues – we assess how this damage has been done and what can be done to remedy it. We also mourn the end of Jurgen Klinsmann’s totemic 10-week stint in charge of Hertha Berlin, as he moves upstairs, and wonder what he can provide in his new ambassadorial role. There’s also chat on Iker Casillas’ bid for the Spanish FA presidency and some cracking games of the week!
