In episode 9, Dónal speaks to Sebastian Adams about surviving as a young composer in Ireland.
Sebastian Adams is an experimental composer, viola player and Director of critically-acclaimed Kirkos Ensemble. He is Coordinator of the Association of Irish Composers and is the former Chair of the Irish Composers Collective.
During the conversation, Sebastian talks about his own creative process, how to wear as many hats as possible, and confronting the daily question: what exactly does an Irish composer do?
Sebastian also discusses the experience of fronting a band as an ambitious teenager amid aspirations to write the next Bohemian Rhapsody, and the importance of making mistakes at a young age.
