This is the first part out of two episodes about my experiences in Skopje in Macedonia – or as you’d sometimes refer it as: The Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, which is a name the Macedonians aren’t too fond of.

In this episode you can hear about my first feel of the city. The city centre is characterized by statues, monuments and beautiful buildings in a Greek and roman style. But it’s almost too much. And then it’s been really expensive.

I talk with journalist Zoran Richliev who is a part of Balkan Investigative Reporting Network. He is one of the few critical journalists in the country and he has been a part of the making of a comprehensive report about the renewal of the city that has taken place in the last 4-5 years. And he isn’t too happy with what’s going on. Among other things, we talk about the Colourful Revolution.
