Homelessness for transgender people exist at a very high level. According the National Center for Transgender Equality, 20% of transgender people in the US have been refused a home or apartment and 10 percent has been evicted because of their gender identity. Transgender people that are homeless also face discrimination at most facilities that assist homeless people with 29% indicating being turned away from a shelter due to being transgender. Pamala French is the Producer and Director of a documentary called, “Becoming More Visible”. It is a very nicely done film about transgender teens in New York City. Pamala is currently trying to fund her project through Kickstarter. So, we have invited Pamala to help promote her very important video and hopefully get the support she needs.
