Can you really be friends with someone you’ve only known online? Well, meet our guest, La Toya who actually homeschools her children. She and Tara have been friends for over a decade. Do you think it might be time to meet up in person yet? La Toya will provide insight and encouragement for all parents dealing with a changed learning environment. The ladies also discuss Black Girl Magic, as we pay tribute to Kamala 'Momala' Harris and discuss why representation matters. Every week, Kaanji and Tara will have candid discussions about the realities of motherhood. Conversations will focus on parenting, partnering, perspectives, and pop culture. You are invited to join them as they get to know each other and their guests, and as they try to uncover the similarities in each mom’s individual journey. Sometimes we can feel alone in this wild life, and we hope to remind others that we are all in this together. Join us as we attempt to navigate motherhood with a little humor, a lot of heart...and a whole lot of 90’s hip-hop. Kaanji and Tara are both volunteer leaders for Embrace Action, an anti-racism advocacy and educational nonprofit organization. You can learn more about Embrace Action by visiting www.embraceaction.org Tara Bio: Tara is a bank executive living in North Dallas with her husband and son. A recovering overachiever that tends to stretch herself a bit thin trying to be all things to all people, she’s learning more and more about how to strive for ordinary. She loves Beyonce, dancing in the kitchen, inappropriate conversations with her girlfriends, laughing with her family, and hyping other people up. She’s currently halfway through an MBA program and aspires to serve in a capacity that empowers women in her community. She is always a work in progress.
