Welcome to the Quiet Connections Podcast with Hayley and Stacie. The Quiet Connections Podcast explores the journey from socially anxious to quietly confident and everything in between. You may be experiencing panic attacks, social anxiety, or simply a feeling that you’re “too quiet” and “not good enough”. You're avoiding the good things in all areas of life, and when avoidance isn't an option, you find you get stuck in people pleasing and perfectionism. In this first episode, you’ll be getting to know us and hearing our stories, much of which we’re sure you’ll relate to! You’ll begin to collect some of the key puzzle pieces that have helped us, and the people we have worked with, to move beyond anxiety and avoidance. You’ll find out about the three-step model that we use to support people at Quiet Connections as you explore with us what it takes to grow your confidence so you can finally speak up, join in and feel like you belong. For the episode show notes, please go to QuietConnections.co.uk/podcast ABOUT YOUR HOSTS Hayley Stanton, Founding Director & Coach at Quiet Connections Hi, I’m Hayley. I was the red-faced one that didn’t speak. I would do anything to avoid being the centre of attention, or even talking to someone, because I believed that I was broken, not good enough & didn’t fit in. Drowning in self-hate, I was too afraid try something new or connect with someone for fear of criticism & rejection… until I learned that panic & awkwardness isn't WHO you are, it’s just HOW you have learned to be; which means that you can change. You just need the puzzle pieces. Stacie Clark, Director, Community Co-ordinator & Coach at Quiet Connections Hello I’m Stacie! I was the girl who awkwardly fumbled over half-formed sentences or blurted out “I don’t know” to avoid attention. I felt scared to show up as I truly was out of fear of not being accepted or liked. I struggled to scramble together 1 good thing to say about myself & I thought that I had nothing to offer. I now know this isn’t true. We all have wonderful qualities within us - waiting to be expressed. That includes you. Together, let’s find your own quiet ways to let them shine.
