Nancy East of Hope and Feather Travels Blog shares her adventures living with the mountains in her backyard. She's a certified Naturalist through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Tremont Institute, a Search and Rescue Volunteer and shares her wilderness safety knowledge with fellow hikers through holding classes (both virtual and in the field!) and her blog posts. After 25 years of hiking in the Smokies, Nancy recently completed her map of hiking all the official trails becoming a member of the 900 Miler Club. As a way to give back to the park that she has loved so much, she is doing the Tour De LeConte challenge and raising money for Trails Forever Program and Friends of the Smokies who are rehabilitating one of the trails up to the LeConte Summit (Trillium Gap). This challenge is close to 45 miles and over 11,000 feet of elevation gain in 24 hours where Nancy will hike all the trails that lead to the LeConte summit.
