The 10th episode of the ‘Beer n BS Show’ - News, Bullshit and Craft Ale Gwyneth Paltrow and her completely mental company 'Goop' get a hard time in this show. 'Snake Oil' healing products and pseudo-science magic potions get discussed whilst Rachel and Geoff go head-to-head on the validity of homeopthy. We look at the craziness of 'Gender Reveal Parties' and touch on the news of possible life found on Venus. As ever we blind taste a few craft ales and sidetrack down a few rabbit holes during the show. Ales Tasted: Nelson Sauvin + Vic secret IPA by Tooth and Claw (Antipodean IPA) - 7.0% ABV Aaron rates 8.0 out of 10 Goose IPA by Goose Island (India Pale Ale) - 5.9% ABV Rachel rates 6.0 out of 10 Blue Brew by Belvoir Brewery (Chestnut British Ale) - 4.2% ABV Rachel rates 7.4 out of 10 Beer Gardener's Tap - Peak Ales (Dark Ale) - 5.0% Geoff rates 6.5 out of 10 Aaron's Beer Suggestion: Tynt Meadow - Mount Saint Bernard Abbey (English Trappist Ale) - 7.4% ABV Trappist beers tend to be named after the place in which the monastery is situated. We’ve called ours ‘Tynt Meadow’, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life was refounded here in the Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, we’ve chosen to produce a strong dark ale, but one with a clearly English character. Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate.
