In this episode, I speak with Dan Murray-Serter, a friend I admire for many reasons, particularly his commitment to live life and do business on his terms. Dan is the Co-Founder of brain health and mental wellness company Heights and the Host of the UK's number 1 business podcast, Secret Leaders. Dan's last business, Grabble, became the UK's number 1 shopping app, for which he won the UK's young entrepreneur of the year award, but it eventually did not work out. Dan has taken many lessons with him in his new ventures. His insatiable appetite for learning and unwavering dedication to ensuring he is working on what he actually cares about has led him to a successful and fulfilling career as an entrepreneurial leader. Listen as Dan discusses: How he dealt with the embarrassing fall of the award-winning, widely admired Grabble How the Japanese concept of Ikigai led him to commit only to work that he loves and feels the world needs Why the 'safety' of employment is not much greater than that of entrepreneurship, especially considering the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic How feeding his brain with proper nutrition cured his chronic insomnia and paved the way for Heights; and why affording several hours per week to his non-profit passion projects has given him the greatest feeling of success.
