LIFE LESSON SERIES: Continual, Unrelenting Effort Often Produces Dramatic Results To put it very simply: being able to stick with it is often times the trick between those who succeed and those who do not. This is a trait that many people who “we remember in history” have in common. A business friend once asked Edison about the secret to his success. Edison replied, “Genius is hard work, stick-to-itiveness, and common sense.” Along with Thomas Edison - Johannes Kepler, Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, and Linus Pauling are some other famous historical figures who are all known for their tenacity. Perfect Can Be The Enemy Of Good (Life Lesson Series)
Jun 10 2014 3 mins
LIFE LESSON SERIES: Perfect Is The Enemy Of Good Perfect is the enemy of good is an aphorism or proverb meaning that insisting on perfection often results in no improvement at all. The phrase is commonly attributed to Voltaire whose moral poem, La Bégueule, starts, “Dans ses écrits, un sàge Italien, Dit que le mieux est l'ennemi du bien” (In his writings, a wise Italian says that the best is the enemy of the good). Aristotle, Confucius and other classical philosophers all warned against extremism in general in their writings. In the early 1900’s, an Italian economist by the name of Vilfredo Pareto created a mathematical formula describing the unequal distribution of wealth he observed and measured in his country. Pareto observed that roughly twenty percent of the people controlled or owned eighty percent of the wealth. CHECK OUT: 1.) The Interview Girl FOUNDATION: http://InterviewGirl.org/ 2.)
