Dec 16 2020 36 mins 10k

Now in its third season, Hell And Gone is a podcast from iHeartRadio and School of Humans that follows writer and private investigator Catherine Townsend as she investigates unsolved deaths. This season, she investigates the death of Mitrice Richardson in Malibu, California. On September 16, 2009, the Lost Hills Sheriff's department responded to a 911 at a local restaurant where 24 year old Mitrice was behaving erratically and refused to pay her bill. Police took her to jail then released her in the middle of the night without her phone, wallet or access to her car. She was never seen alive again.

A very well done podcast on this terrible tale. I've heard a few others cover this story and also seen the documentary on Amazon and it's a truly tragic incident. WHY they punted her out in the middle of nowhere like that is anyone's guess, especially as her mum had phoned and requested they keep hold of her. Someone should be held accountable for such a lack of care. I'm reviewing series 3 as the first 2 didn't appeal to me.

Hell and Gone was the first podcast that I ever listened to, and from then on I've been hooked!!! Catherine does amazing research and interviews on each case. Her commentary is easy to follow as well as attention grabbing. Thanks to Catherine and her team, I'm now a true crime podcast addict... but no other podcast comes close to Hell and Gone! I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a podcast that is serious, fact based, and always in search of the truth! Bravo!

Addicted to every single case Catherine investigates. I love her methodology for investigating and you can feel how much she cares about the victims and their families. She brings the story to life in my minds eye through her straightforward, commonsense way of telling it. I love listening to her voice and accent, as well. You totally believe that her sense of justice will prevail, and you root for her every step of the way!
