The Gnerd Podcast

Feb 14 2016 54 mins 143

Terry Blas is a gnerd (gay + nerd) and has friends that share in his gnerdiness. He is the writer and illustrator for the webcomic Briar Hollow. When he is not drawing, he is watching either Star Trek, Doctor Who or My Little Pony, drinking Diet Coke, reading comics or being a geek about television shows that cast former Buffy cast members. Together with his domestic-partner-in-crime Colin, they talk about comics, video games, gay news, movies. Co-hosts include various friends who sometimes are just plain ol' nerds (aka hetero).

Episode 34: You Mocha Frappuccino!
Apr 10 2013 54 mins
THE GNERD PODCAST PRESENTS: EPISODE 34: YOU MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO! This week Terry and Colin are joined by the dynamic duo of Natalie and Molly! Our fabulous podcast hosts talk about their recent two-nights-in-a-row trip to Portland’s Hamberger Mary’s to enjoy the Honey B. Hart Show where we were treated to drag queens singing songs from Disney films and The Labyrinth. Speaking of musicals, Cyndi Lauper helped turn Kinky Boots into a musical. Colin, however, pitched this idea five years ago. What I’m trying to say is… Cyndi Lauper stole my idea. Speaking of ideas I’d like to steal, while on a book buying trip to Powells, Colin came across the best. book. ever. It’s called The Glory Hole Murders by Tony Fennelly about a retired police office who is called back onto the force to use his homosexuality to solve a string of murders. Speaking of situations I’d prefer not to be caught dead in, some dude in Florida wants to be a merman? Yeah, that happened this week on the internet. (“Merman! Merman!”) When all is said and done, if we had a main topic this week, it would probably be awesome movies we’ve recently seen. Natalie saw Overboard. Terry watched Safety Not Guaranteed and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and a documentary about Bronies. All this led up to the four of us watch one of the best movies ever, Crank staring Colin’s hollywood boyfriend, Jason Statham. Episode 29: Webcomics
Feb 26 2013
THE GNERD PODCAST PRESENTS: EPISODE 29: WEBCOMICS Did you know Terry has a webcomic, Briar Hollow, that he’s been working on for three years now? Okay, you probably do. But not only does he draw a webcomic, he also reads them too. In fact, we all do. Terry, Colin, Sage and Jimmy discuss their favorite webcomics and talk about some new ones in this week’s exciting episode! Gnerd News: – Robbie Amell, apparent cousin to Stephen Amell (aka that shirtless guy from The CW’s ‘Arrow’), has joined the cast of CW’s remake of ‘Tomorrow People‘. The question is: Will Robbie be just as shirtless as Stephen? – Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, Washington is this weekend! Terry will be there at booth #2617-2621. Colin, Jimmy and Conley will be there too wondering around the show floor. Say ‘Hi!’. – Our friends Reed Black and Andrew Green will be at MomoCon in Atlanta, Georgia March 8th-10th. If you find yourself in Atlanta, say ‘Hi!’ to them too. – Orson Scott Card is penning a Superman story. Gnerds everywhere are pissed. Why is this Gnerd News and not Gnerd Rage? I dunno, Terry brought it up. Ask him. Gnerd Rage: – You might remember Megan Fox from such films as Transformers, Transformers 2 and Jennifer’s Body. Well here’s another film featuring Megan Fox that I wont see: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. – This gay Mormon comes out to his family and friends and will remain celibate for his entire life. It sounds like he still needs to come out to himself. Terry’s drawing a response comic which he’ll post soon.
