I'm really digging deep into the theme of simple things I find extraordinary with toast: so simple, so extraordinary. Then, bear with me through a horrible recorded, very short middle segment to get to one of the most random travel stories I have. A backpacking trip on Japan's sacred Kumano Kodo, where we checked into a "poison" hotel and learned about the kindness of strangers.
This episode is dedicated to my toast loving pals Ben and Natalie who were very insistent that I make a toast episode and, of course, Marian, who introduced me to the piece of toast that changed my life.
