I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to Akasha Villalobos who portrays Ally in a mind-bending movie about reconnecting with the dead. As I cannot describe this movie, you’re going to have to see it for yourself because Akasha’s performance is extremely phenomenal. With her talent, she is naturally convincing as a mother of a teenager who is profiling the thoughts of suicide.

The psych-juice (is what I dubbed the special tea as) is a doorway to the paranormal and undead. Although you can see that Ally (played bay Akasha) is reluctant to drink the tea, she does ignore the ramifications by jumping in feet first without hesitation. There are other ways to communicate with the dead in the afterlife, but drinking tea… Who knows what will happen.

All around great interview. Getting to know Akasha on a personal level makes me now realize what she is an award-winning actress. She also deserves an award for this role because she had me convinced.

In the real world, no one takes suicide lightly. This may be a tough movie for some to watch because of the idealization of suicide in the script and roleplay. However, the message brought from the director to the audience is saying that suicide is not okay and that you should seek help immediately.

If you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273 8255 or dial 988 or text “BRAVE” to the Crisis Text Line at 741741. Seek help immediately; suicide is a serious subject and should be dealt with accordingly by professionals.
