Our special guest today is Andrew Smith, Managing Partner of BDB Pitmans. Andrew began an Engineering degree sponsored by the National Coal Board before turning to law in his mid-twenties. He previously worked at law firm Bower Cotton between 1988 and 2000, becoming Partner there in 1995, and joined legacy firm Bircham Dyson Bell in 2000 as a Partner when Bower Cotton merged with BDB. He subsequently became Head of Real Estate and then progressed to become Managing Partner in 2016, remaining in this position when the firm became BDB Pitmans following its 2018 merger with Pitmans Law. Andrew has some excellent insights into entering the legal industry after beginning a non-law degree, his role as Managing Partner and BDB Pitmans’ future trajectory.
