In the movie, it is suggested that Deadpool has latent mutant powers. There is no where from the comics. In the comics, Deadpool gets his abilities from Wolverine.

Apparently, Deadpool is “inspired” from Spider-man, even though he has a lot of similarities with DC’s Deathstroke.

There is some confusion about which timeline this movie takes place in. I think it’s an alternative version of the Singer X-Men. But, maybe not.
