I'll read you an article today.

A friend of mine now has a successful career and a happy life in the eyes of many people. But what we don't know is that he went through a hard time when he first graduated.

Because his major was not popular, he was often rejected when applying for a job. Many resumes were sent out with no response, and he went to numerous job fairs but only to be politely rejected.

At that time, he would go out every morning with all the energy he could muster, but every day he would come back feeling very depressed.

In order not to worry his family, he lied and said he was already at work and no longer needed money from his family. He paid his rent with the money he saved from a part-time job at school and had to figure out how to divide the rest of the money into each meal so that he wouldn't starve.

After two months of this, he was hired by a small business finally.

At work, he was always the hardest-working guy in his department. After work, he learned various professional books and forced himself to adapt to the new position as quickly as possible. Finally, he passed the probation period and successfully became a regular employee.

His job slowly fell into place, and he spent weekends and holidays attending various training sessions. After a few years, he jumped to a big company.

He said that after so many years, he often thought of that hard time. As he grew older, he became more and more grateful for that experience, for the hardship that sharpened his mind and stimulated his potential.

It is because of suffering, he will understand the meaning of hard work, and will have been constantly trying to move forward.

Many times, such articles give us psychological comfort, give us encouragement. But, a lot of times people call this kind of article "chicken soup for the soul", it can comfort your soul, but the world is very complicated. It may skip over a batch of brutal facts and tell you only the things that cheer you up and make you happy.

Once there was a very famous variety show, it was a debate show, the young people in China were very fond of watching it. One of its topics was "Should We Be Thankful for the Suffering Life Brings".

In fact, I prefer to say that suffering is suffering, it does not deserve our gratitude. Everyone should have a very smooth life, why should we go through the suffering, why should we thank the suffering.

One of the debaters, his speech was funny, and he said, "You're thankful for the hardships in your life. Do you have Stockholm syndrome?"
