Running a fitness bootcamp can be a lucrative, rewarding, and time-efficient business avenue. Operating a business, though, comes with administrative duties. These tasks are often new skills that need to be developed and can often take away from our passion as fitness instructors, which is teaching health & fitness. In episode 101 of the KIPS Podcast, host Tyler Valencia, Ph.D. (c), pulls from his time running an outdoor bootcamp and shares administrative tips that kept his business running smoothly for four years.

Tyler provides a helpful tip on finding a platform to help you book sessions, connect with your members, and integrate with reliable merchant processors. Although these platforms were not as readily available in 2012, there are now several low-cost and user-friendly options in the market. One such platform is StartBooking, for which Tyler has created a step-by-step setup tutorial that you can use today. Using booking platforms can save you time and, in most cases, replace the need for a website that requires constant maintenance. Such tasks often take multiple hours and require extensive research.

If you’re a bootcamp owner, what tips did you wish you knew about when you started?
