[המשך] ג' שלבים הנ"ל [שמחה, גאולה, מצוה] ישנם גם בענין הפצת המעיינות חוצה – "חוצה" כפשוטה, שזהו"ע שהזמ"ג, אבל גם בה"חוצה" של עצמו, שהרי כחות נפשו הם כבר בבחי' "חוצה" לגבי עצם הנפש: מכיון שה"כח" כפי שנמשך מהנפש הוא בבחי' "חוצה" ביחס לכפי שהי' כלול בעצם הנפש, הנה כדי שהוא יפעול כדבעי יש לכל לראש לשמחו ו"לומר לו" שדוקא עי"ז נפעל הענין ד"יחוד קוב"ה ושכינתי'" (בעולם העשי', אבל עי"ז עד) "הוא ושמו אחד"! ועי"ז הוא "נגאל" מ"נפילת-רוחו" ("נפל מדרגי'"), ואז הוא עושה את הפעולה עצמה – "מצוה". ועד"ז בהפעולה על הזולת: לכל לראש יש לעודדו ולשמחו שידע שיש בו "חלק אלוקה ממעל ממש" וכו', ועי"ז מתבטלים המדידות וההגבלות ו(גם) המחיצות בין א' לשני ["גאולה"], שהרי מצד הנשמה "כולן מתאימות ואב א' לכולנה"! ועד שבאים לעיקר – ה"נעשה" – "מצוה", שעי"ז נעשה ה"צוותא וחיבור".

[Continued.] These three stages mentioned earlier (joy, redemption, and mitzvah) also apply to spreading the wellsprings outward – “outward” in the literal sense (which is the call of the hour), as well as “outward” within oneself. Compared to the soul’s essence, the soul’s faculties are considered “outside.” Therefore, in order for a soul-faculty to operate properly, one must first bring it joy, by “telling it” that it is the means by which the “union of the Holy One blessed be He, and His Shechina” will come about etc. This joy “redeems” the soul-faculty from the sense that it has fallen from its higher level, after which comes the action itself – “mitzvah.” The same applies to spreading the wellsprings to others: first, one must give the other Jew the encouragement and joy that comes with the knowledge that he is an “actual portion of Hashem from above” etc. This then nullifies all boundaries and limitations (“redemption”), including the barriers between one Jew and another, because in truth, “they are all equal and they all have one father.” Then comes the main thing – action which brings about the bond and connection (“mitzvah”) to Hashem.
