Hannah was ambivalent about having children and now she is childfree by circumstance and has fully embraced the lifestyle. She was diagnosed with endometriosis and she underwent surgical menopause in her mid-thirties, and even though this surgery was pivotal for her health she still had to bear hearing some comments that are way too familiar to us CF women.
As a GP who specializes in female hormonal health, mainly on menopause and premenstrual dysphoric disorder, she has had the privilege to talk to many women with similar health issues and hear what they have to face on a day to day basis, both as childless women and as mothers.
We talk about how education impacts the choices we make to become or not become mothers, and (shocker!) first-world countries are not too different as developing countries in this regard.
