God's Word shows us how to live according to His ways and Word as opposed to what we merely SEE with our physical eyes. As Christians, we are called to live according to what we read in God's Word as opposed to what we see in the media and on the internet and television. What we see is often not the truth, What we read in God's Word IS the TRUTH. How we as Christians are to live in an image based culture is essential to the Christian walk.
