Reporting from Jerusalem, I'm witnessing Israel's devastating reality as the nation grapples with unbearable grief and continued terror. Last Thursday, we braced for the return of murdered hostages Oded Lifshitz and the Bibas family, only to discover Hamas's cruel deception—they substituted Shiri Bibas's body with an unknown woman's corpse while displaying propaganda blaming Israel for their deaths. Forensics later proved Hamas murdered the victims by hand, not Israeli airstrikes as Hamas claimed. The nation's mourning was compounded by bus bombing attempts near Tel Aviv that same evening, mercifully foiled by timing errors. Despite this trauma, six living hostages were released days later, all showing signs of severe malnutrition and abuse. As Hamas continues threats and Iran makes ominous moves at Nasrallah's funeral, Israelis somehow persevere through this relentless onslaught of trauma.
