Nicdao reveals that Poppy is in a new place this season — happier, in a relationship, and almost balanced — which, of course, is bound to implode. “She’s always waiting to get out,” Nicdao says, describing how naturally the character comes to her. Hornsby, who also writes for the show, admits that when scripting for himself, he goes all in on humiliating David Brittlesbee

Outside of Mythic Quest, Nicdao is making her directorial debut with Asian Male, 60s, Lead, while Hornsby is bringing The Lost Boys to the stage in a new musical adaptation. “They sing about their inner thoughts,” he teases.
