The main purpose of Coonamble LALC is to be a supportive structure for the Aboriginal Community to provide information and referrals to Aboriginal members and people. The Council has an enduring history of advocating for Aboriginal issues and rights both locally and nationally.

With a small population of around 3000 the entire Coonamble Shire stretches from the western slopes of the Warrumbungle Range and is host to an abundance of natural wonders including the Warrumbungle National Park, the Macquarie Marshes and Pilliga Forest. Coonamble is home to Australia’s biggest rodeo and campdraft and the town’s endearing Nickname Hall of Fame.
