It is not everyday that you meet a lawyer, but this one is quite unique because he just recently got admitted as a barrister or solicitor in New Zealand's High Court. He is now legally able to practice his profession in his new home country! A practicing lawyer in the Philippines, this fellow from Iloilo took a chance at a better future for himself and his family -- left a very lucrative trial lawyer and professor position to make a new life in a foreign land. Realizing that his passion is still into helping people, he did some volunteer work translating for court proceedings, also helping out with some admin/notarial duties at the Philippine consulate office in NZ among other roles to beef up his working experience in NZ. And after continuing his law education in NZ and a post graduate diploma in Business Administration, he is ready to fly to new heights. Get to know Richard more and his very inspiring story -- really another testament to our Pinoy resilience and determination to make our country proud, and to make a mark in a country he and his family now call home.
