In May of 1987, 15-year-old Sakia Gunn was on her way home in Newark, New Jersey after a night with friends in Greenwich Village. Sakia and her friend were approached by two older men, and when they rebuffed the men's advances, they were attacked. Sakia, a proud lesbian, was murdered that night in a crime that rocked Newark and the LGBTQ Community. Join CJ from Beyond the Rainbow: True Crimes of the LGBTQ to hear Sakia's story.
