The Titius–Bode law (sometimes termed simply Bode's law) is a formulaic prediction of spacing between planets in any given planetary system. The formula suggests that, extending outward, each planet should be approximately twice as far from the Sun as the one before. The hypothesis correctly anticipated the orbit of the dwarf planet, Ceres (in the asteroid belt), which some Biblical theologians have surmised as being the remains of the infamous Planet Rahab, the original home of Lucifer.

Lastly, Joel draws the correlation between the destruction of Superman's home world, Krypton, and how reality can often be found hidden within modern media.
