On the first day of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, five Asian women writers read from their work and address the rise of anti-Asian bigotry in the United States. Coming from a variety of perspectives and backgrounds, Jerrine Tan, Paula Mendoza, Celina Su, Devi S. Laskar, and Pauline Park together throw a powerful light on the past and present of American racial capitalism, patriarchy, and imperialism. They draw from intimate personal experience and strong political convictions to propose an intersectional and international feminism as the way forward. Reading co-presented by The Evergreen Review and Singapore Unbound.
